Site Manager – Commercial Fitout

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead the on-site delivery of high-quality commercial fit-out projects. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll champion safety, drive programme performance, and be the face of Swan Group on site — ensuring every fit-out is delivered on time, on budget, and to zero-defect standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and maintain a safe worksite, championing Swan’s “Goal Zero” safety culture and all HSEQ requirements.
• Manage subcontractor performance, site logistics, and coordination of fit-out trades from pre-construction through to handover.
• Develop and maintain the fit-out programme, including 2-week lookahead plans and short-term target programmes.
• Drive quality assurance — conducting pre-start meetings, ITPs, and quality checks to achieve zero defects at Practical Completion.
• Review fit-out design documentation, raise RFIs, and resolve interface and detailing issues to keep the project moving.
• Monitor works against programme and budget, reporting progress and HSEQ compliance to the Project Manager and HSEQ Manager.
• Represent Swan Group professionally in site coordination meetings and with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Identify scope variations, design risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement on fit-out delivery.

What You’ll Bring

• 5–8 years’ hands-on experience in commercial fit-out, with a proven track record as a Site Manager or senior Site Supervisor.
• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or equivalent (looked upon favourably).
• Proven ability to lead safe, high-performing fit-out sites with consistent safety audit results.
• Strong programme management skills — you understand logic planning and can keep a fast-paced fit-out on track.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes, and fit-out construction processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills — you can manage a busy site and bring people with you.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and document management systems.
• First Aid certificate and Asbestos Awareness.
• Physically fit and comfortable conducting site assessments, working at heights, and undertaking inspections.
