Armadale Health Service Extensions & Fitout

The hospital required a range of works to be carried out at the fully operational Armadale Health Service comprising the addition of a Staff Room and Medication Room for the Medical Admissions Unit (MAU), the addition of Medical Equipment Storage and expansion of the Staff Break Area as new building footprint works to the existing hospital.

To resource the extension works within the enclosed existing hospital areas, our project team designed and implemented an intricate temporary access route over the roof of the two-storey hospital. Material was craned to the worksite with a number of controlled lifts in conjunction with set times agreed with the hospital whereby no procedures were taking place in the adjoining operating theatres.

All visitors and operatives adhered to the stringent ‘Infection Control Principals for the Management of Construction within Health Care Facilities’ and Swan’s full-time Site Manager ensured dust and noise generation was mitigated or minimised and a high level of site cleanliness was maintained at all times.

The project has left Armadale Health Service with state-of-the-art medical facilities and staff amenities all delivered within challenging locations without causing disruption to the hospital’s critical activities.
