This required Swan Group to plan and sequence activities so that noise, dust, and access impacts were kept to a minimum. Key works were staged outside of peak operational hours where possible. The sequencing was coordinated to avoid interference with major hotel events and gaming operations. This included working closely with Crown Perth’s operations team to review timelines, adjust schedules, and maintain the resort’s uninterrupted guest experience. This approach ensured that the resort’s core business activities remained unaffected, while construction milestones were still met.
Managing procurement to keep works moving
A significant component of the project involved managing items with extended lead times, along with integrating items procured directly by Crown Perth into the overall programme. Swan Group incorporated these procurement factors into the schedule from the outset, ensuring that materials and equipment arrived on site in line with installation requirements. This proactive approach helped eliminate potential delays that could have impacted the delivery date. Coordination between Swan Group, suppliers, and the client’s procurement team allowed for streamlined logistics, with deliveries aligned to avoid storage issues and to ensure a smooth flow of work.
Delivering ahead of schedule
Despite the complexities of working in a live operational environment and managing specialised procurement, Swan Group achieved Practical Completion ahead of the client’s deadline. This allowed Crown Perth to proceed with its scheduled opening events without any risk to planned dates. The successful completion of the Pearl Room Salons fitout reinforced Swan Group’s ability to manage high-profile projects in challenging settings while meeting quality and timing requirements.
Ongoing collaboration with Crown Perth
Following the successful delivery of the Pearl Room Salons project, Crown Perth engaged Swan Group again in 2023 to complete the addition of a non-smoking balcony. This repeat engagement reflected the strong working relationship established during the initial works and the client’s confidence in Swan Group’s capability to deliver in similar operationally sensitive environments.
