The project began with demolition of the former lounge, clearing the deck for a considered layout that works in the rush of an international terminal. The new plan introduces a welcoming foyer that takes the edge off check-in, followed by distinct zones, a living room for settling in with a book, a dining room for unhurried meals, and a bar and servery that keep service flowing. Behind the scenes sits a commercial kitchen, with amenities and ancillary spaces placed to keep things moving smoothly. The open, expansive design is capable of accommodating up to 140 passengers, so the space feels generous without tipping into echoey or impersonal. The effect is calm, comfortable and purposeful, just what you want before a long-haul flight.
Food and comfort sit at the heart of the concept. There is a live cooking station that brings a little theatre to mealtimes, along with a self-serve buffet and bar for quick top-ups. Shower Suites give travellers a proper reset, not just a freshen up. Work-friendly productivity pods offer a spot to focus, make a call, or send a last email without the bustle. Meanwhile, custom Batik-inspired joinery adds a refined cultural touch, reinforcing the brand’s heritage.
Since the work took place in an active terminal, planning and coordination were key. Swan Group worked closely with airport authorities and contractors to ensure the construction didn’t interfere with daily operations. Completed in February 2024, the new SilverKris Lounge is now a standout feature of Perth Airport. It offers travellers a more relaxed, functional space ahead of their flights. This upgrade reflects both Singapore Airlines’ service philosophy and Swan Group’s experience in complex airport builds. The completed fitout supported both self-service and staffed hospitality functions and included universal access compliance throughout.
