Crown Promenade Hotel Refurbishment

Delivering staged works within a fully operational hotel environment required meticulous planning and coordination.

Location: Crown Perth, Burswood
Designers: Lombard & Jack
Size: 4,000m2
Duration: 18 weeks
The refurbishment program was carefully aligned with the hotel’s occupancy schedule to minimise disruption to guests and ensure seamless ongoing operations.

Collaboration with client suppliers

Swan worked closely with Crown’s domestic fixtures and furniture suppliers to achieve a consistent and high-quality finish across all refurbished spaces. This collaboration ensured that the installed elements aligned with Crown’s design specifications and met the required operational standards for a premium hotel environment. The partnership approach allowed for seamless integration between Swan’s construction program and the client’s procurement and delivery timelines. Fixtures and furniture were installed efficiently, supporting the strict weekly handover schedule.

Upgrades to the foyer and business centre

In the hotel foyer, the works included the installation of a high-level solar reflective film on the atrium glazed roof. This upgrade improved solar performance and enhanced the comfort of the public space. Old cladding was removed as part of the refurbishment, allowing for a refreshed and modernised aesthetic. The business centre was also upgraded in line with the refurbishment objectives. Works in this space were carried out alongside those in the foyer and guest room areas, ensuring consistency in quality and finish throughout the project.

Attention to finish and detail

The project placed strong emphasis on achieving a polished final result. In the guest rooms, new feature wallpaper provided an updated and contemporary design element. The combination of soft finishes and careful detailing created a cohesive interior environment across all refurbished spaces. The choice of Belbien vinyl in the lift cars delivered a practical and durable upgrade while maintaining a consistent design language with other refurbished areas. This attention to both durability and visual quality was essential for the high-traffic, guest-facing spaces within the hotel.

Outcome

Over the course of 18 weeks, 291 guest rooms, the corridors, foyer, and business centre of Crown Promenade Hotel were refurbished to a contemporary standard, with minimal impact on ongoing hotel operations. The weekly delivery of a completed, guest-ready room demonstrated Swan’s capacity to operate within strict timeframes in live environments. The project showcased careful staging, close collaboration with client-appointed suppliers, and a focus on quality finishes throughout. The end result was a refreshed and consistent interior environment aligned with Crown Promenade’s operational and design requirements.
