They needed an environment that could support deep focus, encourage real-time collaboration, and flex with their fast-paced, evolving workflows. With just eight weeks to deliver, Swan Group worked with interior design studio Design Theory to deliver a tailored 550m² fitout that met every objective. Equilibrium’s staff shift quickly between solo projects, quick team check-ins, and informal brainstorming. The design needed to reflect this rhythm, something that’s easy to overlook in more static office layouts. Design Theory created an open layout featuring well-placed workstations, flexible meeting areas, and relaxed breakout zones. The design encourages movement while making it easy to settle in and focus when needed.

A kitchen that connects

At the centre of the office is the kitchen, designed as a functional hub and a space for everyday connection. Positioned for easy access, it’s used throughout the day for coffee catchups, impromptu meetings, or just a short pause between tasks. Its simple layout and comfortable materials give it a welcoming feel without distracting from the work environment around it. Equilibrium wanted a kitchen that felt modern and lived-in, not overly polished. Swan Group delivered a finish that’s both practical and inviting, with warm tones, clean lines, and integrated appliances that stand up to daily use. It feels like part of the office, not separate from it.

Eight weeks to delivery

The project was completed in September 2023, right on schedule. With a delivery window of just eight weeks, time was a critical factor. Swan Group’s close communication with both Design Theory and Equilibrium ensured progress remained steady. Weekly site meetings, fast decision-making, and consistent communication kept the project on track. As the team evolves, the space is adapting alongside them.
