Hyde Perth, The Adnate Hotel

Swan was engaged by Accor to deliver the interior fitout of the Hyde Perth bar and restaurant within The Adnate Hotel at 900 Hay Street, Perth CBD.

Location: Hay Street, Perth
Designers: Studio Mac
Size: 600m2
Duration: 7 weeks
The project encompassed two levels positioned around the hotel’s pool area. The Adnate is part of the Art Series portfolio and opened in October 2019. Named after Australian street artist Matt Adnate, the building features a 25-storey mural on its façade, creating a distinctive backdrop to the venue.

Detailed joinery across key spaces

The fitout works included the construction and installation of high-quality joinery throughout the bar and restaurant. Central to this was the fabrication of the large main bar, designed as a focal point for the lower level. The reception counter was built to provide both functional efficiency and a clear entry statement for the space. A custom servery to the kitchen was installed to allow seamless service, along with restaurant counters that integrated with the surrounding finishes. Custom joinery extended along perimeter walls and into ceiling features, requiring precise alignment with architectural design specifications. The choice of materials and finishes was tailored to suit the venue’s high-end aesthetic, with each element manufactured to match exact measurements and coordinate with adjacent surfaces.

Feature carpentry and intricate tiling

Beyond joinery, the fitout involved extensive carpentry works to perimeter walls and feature ceilings. These elements were designed to frame the interior and provide visual depth to the spaces. The ceiling treatments required careful sequencing with lighting and services to ensure a flawless finish without compromising functionality. Intricate tiling was applied throughout the bar and restaurant areas. Patterns and finishes were selected to reflect the overall design intent, while offering the durability needed for a busy hospitality venue. Tiling installation required precision to maintain consistent lines and transitions between floor and wall surfaces, especially in high-use areas such as the bar frontage and service zones.

Meeting deadlines on a fast-track schedule

The project was delivered under a fast-track program to meet the operational launch date for the hotel. This required careful planning of manufacturing lead times, site access, and installation sequencing. Coordination with other trades working on the base build was essential to integrate all fitout elements without delays. Each stage of work was monitored to maintain alignment with the architectural drawings and to ensure that quality benchmarks were met. The tight timeframe meant that material deliveries and onsite work had to be synchronised precisely, with minimal scope for rework.

A complete fitout ready for service

On completion, the two-level bar and restaurant spaces were fully operational and ready to receive guests. The combination of custom joinery, feature carpentry, and detailed tiling provided a cohesive, high-quality interior that met the design vision. Positioned alongside the pool area, the venue offers both indoor and poolside hospitality settings, with each area tied together through consistent material choices and detailing. The Adnate Hotel bar and restaurant fitout demonstrated Swan’s capability to deliver a complex hospitality interior within the constraints of a fast-paced program. The finished result provided Accor with a venue that was ready for immediate operation as part of the hotel’s opening schedule.
