Isuzu Dealership

A fire caused extensive damage to the Isuzu car sales showroom and workshop.

Location: Wangara, WA
Designers: APP Corp & Quoin
Size: 1,000m2
Duration: 17 weeks
The incident resulted in structural damage to the roof and significant destruction to the main building. Swan Group was engaged to carry out the necessary demolition, cleaning, and reinstatement works required to restore the facility. The project involved two main areas: the workshop and the showroom. Swan Group’s immediate focus was restoring the workshop to operational status. This enabled the tenant to continue trading from Monday to Saturday throughout the project. Roof sheeting and purlins in the workshop were replaced, ensuring structural integrity and compliance. Business continuity was a key priority and Swan Group’s delivery approach allowed the tenant to remain open during the staged works.

Collaborative approach kept disruption to a minimum

Close communication with the tenant was maintained from the outset. This helped manage scheduling and allowed fitout works to progress without interrupting ongoing operations. With activities coordinated around the tenant’s trading hours, disruption was kept to a minimum. Following the workshop reinstatement, attention turned to the fire-damaged showroom. A complete internal refurbishment was carried out. The scope included roof restoration, ceiling replacement, new kitchen fixtures, and upgrades to the main reception and service desk. New flooring was also installed, with a combination of tiles and carpet depending on the zone. The electrical and communications infrastructure was upgraded throughout the space. Air conditioning systems were reinstated to ensure comfort and functionality. The project scope involved detailed cleaning and decontamination following fire and water damage, along with the careful removal and replacement of all ceiling systems. Roof restoration was undertaken on both the workshop and showroom buildings, followed by the installation of new kitchen fixtures to replace those destroyed in the fire. A new main reception and service desk were installed to support day-to-day operations and customer interactions. Flooring works included the supply and installation of tiles in high-traffic areas and carpet for quieter zones. Electrical works involved the full installation of new wiring, outlets, and communications cabling to modern standards. New air conditioning units were installed, restoring temperature control across both sections of the facility.

Reinstating operations through precise fitout delivery

This refurbishment ensured the Isuzu dealership could resume full operations with updated infrastructure and renewed customer-facing spaces. The works were delivered in a staged manner, maintaining site safety and minimising downtime for the tenant. Swan Group managed the sequencing of demolition, cleaning, and construction activities with minimal impact to the ongoing business, consistently liaising with stakeholders to align progress with operational needs. The project demonstrates Swan Group’s capacity to manage complex fitouts under challenging circumstances, including live-site conditions and time-sensitive business needs. With structural and cosmetic restoration completed to specification, the Isuzu dealership returned to full capacity with enhanced facilities and a safer, more functional environment.
